I’m Laura Cripps, and I own Shampoochies, this friendly professional dog grooming salon in Cockermouth, West Cumbria.
When I left school I didn’t know if I wanted to be a hairdresser or work with animals. Now, as a professional dog groomer, I get to do both!
I’m Cumbrian born and bred, and am a former pupil of Keswick School.
I hold animal management qualifications from Newton Rigg College near Penrith, one of the country’s largest providers of specialist further education. I am qualified to City & Guild standards and pride myself on my professionalism and expertise.
I began my dog grooming business from my home in Flimby and opened up Shampoochies in Cockermouth in February 2015.
I have three Lakeland terriers of my own, Spike, Nip and Gyp, and am used to working with dogs of all breeds, shapes, sizes and temperaments. My biggest client to date is a seven stone Giant Schnauzer, while my smallest is the cutest of terriers.
We know your dog is part of your family so you can be confident your precious pup is in good hands while we take care of all of their grooming needs.
